How Do I Check My Cars Oil Level
How Do I Check My Car’s Oil Level?
To check your car’s oil level, first ensure the engine is off and the car is on a level surface. Open the hood and locate the dipstick, which typically has a brightly colored handle. Pull the dipstick out, wipe it clean with a cloth or paper towel, then reinsert it fully back into the tube. Remove it again and check the oil level, which should be between the two marks (lower and upper) on the dipstick. If the oil level is below the lower mark, you need to add oil. Be sure to use the correct type of oil as specified in your vehicle’s owner’s manual. If the oil looks dirty or gritty, it may be time for an oil change. Always ensure the engine is cool before checking to avoid burns, and check regularly to maintain proper oil levels for optimal engine performance and longevity.
